5 Things No One Told You about
Living in Central Florida
When you tell people you live in Central Florida they generally think of one thing: Disney World. Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Legoland, and more make up the theme park capital of the world. Central Florida is so much more than that, though. Between the vibrant culture, enticing nature, and quality of life, Central Florida is one of the best places to live in Florida and the United States.
To prove our point, here are 5 things no one told you about living in Central Florida:
We have more natural springs than anywhere else in the US.
Florida has over 700 springs, and the highest concentration of them is in Central Florida. These inviting pools make the summers just a little more fun thanks to the cool temperatures (usually around 70 degrees), relaxed atmosphere, and opportunities for water activities such as SCUBA diving.
We love the arts.
There’s more to our culture than Disney. Central Florida has its own opera, philharmonic, and ballet, as well as a host of art museums and other cultural attractions like music, art, and food festivals.
We love food, too.
Central Florida's food scene is one that’s steadily been gaining attention over the past ten years. From fine dining to food trucks, as a whole has a lively and ever-evolving food and drink scene that people all over the country come to experience in and of itself.
We’ve got a team for every sports fan to root for.
Central Florida is home to the Orlando Magic (NBA), the Orlando City Soccer Club (MLS), Orlando Solar Bears (IHL), and the Orlando Predators (AFL). If college football is more your style, the University of Central Florida Knights are part of the NCAA Division 1. Tampa is home to the Lightening( Hockey) & The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL). For College football you have The USF Bulls.
We’re not far from the beach.
The title “Central Florida” implies you’re far from the coast but that’s not entirely accurate. In about an hour, you can enjoy the soft, white sands of Clearwater ,St.Pete or east coast bound Daytona or Cocoa Beach along Florida’s Space Coast.
Central Florida is one of the liveliest and fastest-growing areas in the country. It has arguably the best amusement parks in the entire world, but that’s just the icing on the cake.
